Police Investigate Assault and Theft of Vehicle.
Pictou County District RCMP is requesting information from the public following an assault and vehicle theft in Hedgeville.
On February 10, at approximately 4:10 p.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 600 block of Brook Rd. Officers learned that a man had been lured from his home by a woman who claimed she needed a boost for her vehicle.
The man drove the woman to her car, which was parked along Brook Rd. When they arrived, one of the two men travelling with the woman exited their vehicle and assaulted the victim. The victim’s 2018 GMC Sierra was then stolen. The woman drove off in the car.
The victim was assessed by EHS for non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of the incident, the woman was wearing a hooded coat and ripped jeans. She’s described as 6-foot-0 with a slim build and deep red hair that may be shoulder-length. One of the men is described as 5-foot-5, with a slender build, dark hair, and a beard, and was wearing a hooded jacket. A description of the second man is not available.
The trio was travelling in a dark-coloured, four-door older model Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla.
The stolen Sierra was located on February 18 in McLellans Brook. The investigation is ongoing.
