Reported impaired driver in New Glasgow charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by a Drug.
On May 2nd, 2023, at 1:10 p.m., New Glasgow Regional Police arrested a 39-year-old and a 31-year-old, after police received a 911 call that a 2011 White Toyota Corolla had collided with a guard rail at exit 25.
Officers immediately located the vehicle in the parking lot of Highland Square Mall and upon investigation the driver, a 39-year-old man from Pictou County was arrested and charged for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drug.
A 31-year-old female from Pictou County was also arrested for an endorsed warrant.
Both individuals were later released will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on a later date.
New Glasgow Regional Police thank the public for continuing to report suspected impaired drivers. Police also ask the public to immediately call 911 if they see a possible impaired driver, to report their location along with a description of the vehicle, including the license plate number, colour, make and model, the direction of travel for the vehicle and a description of the driver.
