Man and Woman Charged in Firearms Offence Investigation.

Colchester County District RCMP has charged a man and woman in relation to an ongoing firearms offence investigation.

On October 4, 2023, at approximately 5:20 a.m., as part of an ongoing firearms offence investigation, Colchester County District RCMP, with assistance from the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team, Millbrook RCMP, Pictou County District RCMP and East Hants District RCMP, executed a search warrant at a home on Tower Rd. in Millbrook. At the residence, RCMP officers safely arrested a 33-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and seized a rifle, a shotgun, two replica firearms, brass knuckles and ammunition.

Diaz Mantley, 33, of Halifax, has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts), Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited (3 counts), Careless Storage of a Firearm (3 counts) and Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order (3 counts). Mantley has been remanded into custody and will appear in Truro Provincial Court later today.

Cynthia Googoo, 49, of Millbrook, has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts) and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm (3 counts). She was released on conditions and will appear in Truro Provincial Court on December 6, 2023.
