RCMP Release Dangerous Person With Firearm Alert.

Final update, 9:30 a.m. – The emergency alert that was issued in #ColchesterCounty #CumberlandCounty #GuysboroughCounty #PictouCounty #HantsCounty and #HalifaxRegionalMunicipality for Darren Trevor Jackson, 52, has been cancelled.

Investigators have determined that this was a targeted incident and was not random. The victim is known to Jackson. There is no threat to the public. The search for Jackson is continuing. Jackson should be considered armed; anyone who sees him should not approach him. Please call 902-893-6820 or Crime Stoppers if you see Jackson or know where is.

Update – October 16, 2023, 07:45 a.m. : The search for 52-year-old Darren Trevor Jackson is continuing. Officers have worked through the night following up on tips and new information, and will continue to do so today. Anyone with information on Jackson’s whereabouts, please call 9-1-1.

Update 01:52 a.m. : Further information will be provided as it becomes available. Investigators are following up on tips provided by the public. The investigation and search remain ongoing and we’re continuing to ask anyone with information to call 9-1-1.


Update October 16, 00 :43 a.m. : Investigators believe Jackson may be driving a dark 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck possibly bearing the Nova Scotia licence plate GYD193.

The vehicle is described as a crew cab model with a cracked windshield, a grey metal tool box in the bed of the truck and an airbag and cover missing from the steering wheel.


Update 11 :57 p.m.: Jackson is believed to have left the scene of the shooting in a vehicle (unknown description). Our investigation and search are ongoing and we’re continuing to ask anyone with information to call 9-1-1.

Dangerous person with firearm in Brookfield, Nova Scotia. RCMP searching for 52-year-old Darren Trevor Jackson in relation to a shooting at motel on Highway 2 in Brookfield where a woman known to Jackson was injured. Jackson is believed to be armed with a shotgun and is described as a white man, five feet ten inches tall, 205 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Call 9-1-1 if seen. Do not pick up hitch hikers.
