Update: ID Of Suspect, Police on Scene of Armed Man Threating People.
Police are still on scene of a threats call in the Gaston Road area of Dartmouth and are releasing the suspect’s name and photo.
At approximately 9:20 a.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a man, with a firearm, who was threatening people who are known to him. The man fled the area on foot before police arrived.
Police continue to search for the suspect who has been identified as 49-year-old David John Campbell. David is described as a white man, approximately 6‘tall, 170 lbs., bald with tattoos on both arms and was last seen wearing a dark jacket and jeans.
Gaston Road has reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Police remain in the area and are asking the public to stay away.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. If you see him, do not approach and call 911.
During the investigation, police arrested another man, in his 50s, in relation to an unrelated matter.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6‘tall, 170 lbs., bald and was last seen wearing a blue jacket and jeans.
Gaston Road is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. There is a significant police presence in the area, including K9 units.
Police are asking the public to stay away from the area, shelter in place if you are in the area, and call 911 if you need help or have any information.
