Man Facing Serious Charges After Traffic Stop at The Cobequid Pass.

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment’s Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has charged a man in relation to drugs seized in Colchester County.

On May 31, SCEU, with assistance from Colchester County District RCMP, completed a targeted roadside stop on a rental vehicle travelling on Hwy. 104 near the Cobequid Pass toll plaza in relation to an ongoing drug investigation.

During the traffic stop, RCMP officers safely arrested the sole occupant, a 25-year-old Halifax man, and then located and seized four kilograms of cocaine.

That same day, RCMP officers, with assistance from Halifax Regional Police, executed a search warrant at a home linked to the man. During the search, officers located and seized Methamphetamine and $3,000 in cash.

Draven Detroit Myers, 25, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (two counts)

Myers was remanded into custody on May 31 and then released on conditions by Halifax Provincial Court yesterday.
