Police Respond to Irate Man at Emergency Department.

On July 3, 2024, at 8:30 p.m., the Truro Police Service received a call from the Colchester East Hants Health Center advising an irate male was causing a disturbance and uttering threats in the Emergency Department waiting room and made threats to harm police if they responded.

Truro Police patrol officers arrived quickly and took the male into custody without incident.

Ryan MacDonald, 36 years old from Halifax, has been charged with two (2) counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, breach of a probation order, and breach of a previous release order.

The accused was held in police custody overnight and appears in Truro Provincial Court this morning.
