Two Fatal Motorcycle Crashes Within Hours and Kilometers of Each Other.

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in First South.

On July 21, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire, and EHS, responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Hwy. 332.

RCMP officers learned that a Harley-Davidson trike motorcycle had been travelling west on the highway when it left the road and entered the ditch. Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The passenger, a 78-year-old woman from Lunenburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, a 76-year-old Lunenburg man, was transported by EHS to the South Shore Regional Hospital and later flown by EHS LifeFlight to the QEII Health Sciences Centre.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 332 was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.

Second Crash:

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Deans Corner.

On July 21, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire, and EHS, responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Hwy. 3. RCMP officers learned that a Kawasaki motorcycle was travelling south on the highway when it left the road.

The driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle, a 23-year-old Lunenburg man, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash; the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 3 was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
