Charges Laid After a Person Was injured Outside of a business.
A Mount Hanley man is facing charges after an altercation in New Minas.
On August 3, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report that a man was injured outside of a business in the 9000 block of Commercial St.
Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers located a 26-year-old-man and learned that he had been assaulted with a knife by another man who was known to him. The suspect had left the area in a Honda Civic before officers arrived.
An RCMP officer observed the suspect’s Civic heading east on Hwy. 1 and completed a traffic stop. The driver, 26-year-old Mackenzie Allen Moore of Mount Hanley, was arrested. He’s facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.
Moore was remanded into custody and is due to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on August 6.
The investigation is ongoing.
