Police lay charges in homicide

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to a homicide that occurred in Halifax last week.

On October 10, at approximately 9:40 a.m., officers responded to a well-being check at Quingate Place in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased woman. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service ruled the death a homicide.

Jonathan William Pinsky, 41, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother, Delina Pinsky, 71.

Mr. Pinsky will be remanded for the weekend and appear in Halifax provincial Court on Tuesday, October 15.
