NSLC Post Second Quarter Results, Local Weed Sales Down 10%.
The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) released its second-quarter financial results today, December 3.
Total sales from July 1 to September 29, 2024, were up 1.5 per cent to $245.8 million, with an increase in both beverage alcohol and cannabis sales compared with the same time last year.
Beverage alcohol sales increased 1.2 per cent to $213.2 million, and cannabis sales increased 3.9 per cent to $32.6 million.
Earnings increased 0.5 per cent to $83.8 million.
Sales of Nova Scotia alcohol products increased by 3.3 per cent to $29.7 million. Locally produced ready-to-drink products led the category with a 6.6 per cent increase to $11.9 million. Local cannabis sales decreased 10.1 per cent to $9.2 million, with Nova Scotia cannabis products accounting for 28.3 per cent of all cannabis sales.
Other local product sales results include:
- craft beer increased 4.1 per cent to $9.5 million
- wine decreased 1.9 per cent to $5.1 million
- spirits decreased 1.8 per cent to $3.2 million.
