RCMP Arrest Man for Firearm Offences.

On the evening of August 27th, 2023, around 9:30 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP promptly responded to a report of a man firing a gun inside a residence on Cobequid View Dr. in Central Onslow.

According to RCMP, a 22-year-old individual had a dispute with others present in the house. The man discharged the firearm into an air conditioning unit before making his escape in a vehicle. The RCMP officers successfully located the firearm at the scene, and it was established that all parties involved were acquainted with each other.

Fortunately, no injuries were sustained during the incident. To aid in the search for the suspect, Colchester County District RCMP collaborated with Cumberland County District RCMP, Millbrook RCMP, and the Truro Police Service.

Around 10 p.m., the suspect was apprehended on Treaty Trail in Millbrook. Following the arrest, the man was held in custody overnight and is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court. The charges he will be facing include Discharging a Firearm, among other firearms-related offenses. The investigation is currently ongoing.
