Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Little Harbour Stabbing Incident.
Pictou County District RCMP has charged a woman with attempted murder after an incident in Little Harbour, Pictou County.
On October 3, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the New Glasgow Regional Police (NGRP) responded to a hospital in New Glasgow in relation to a complaint of a woman having arrived at the hospital with stab wounds. The NGRP also responded to a report of a suspicious person on Dalhousie St. in New Glasgow, and determined that the person, a 23-year-old woman, was the suspect in the stabbing. The woman was safely arrested. After initial investigation, the NGRP determined that the victim had been stabbed in Little Harbour, and the investigation was turned over to Pictou County District RCMP.
Pictou County District RCMP determined that the victim, a 35-year-old woman, the suspect and a 32-year-old man, had been travelling in a vehicle on Little Harbour Rd. in Little Harbour, when the suspect stabbed the victim, suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled from the vehicle and the man transported the victim to the hospital, which prompted the original call to the NGRP. The suspect was transferred into the custody of Pictou County District RCMP and was held in custody. The victim was later released from hospital.
Emily Leudy, 23, of New Waterford, has been charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. Leudy has been remanded into custody and will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on October 11, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
