UPDATE: Missing Woman and Child Found Deceased.

The 3-year-old boy who was last seen at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, has been found deceased. He was located by search teams near the remains of the 36-year-old woman who was found earlier today.

At this time, the death is not believed to be suspicious in nature; however; the investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the woman’s family at this difficult time.

With the assistance of RCMP Air Services, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Under Water Recovery Team, the Canadian Coast Guard and ground search and rescue teams from Sheet Harbour, Eastern Shore, Musquodoboit Valley and Halifax, the search to locate 3-year-old Lucas Robert Cooper continues. He has black curly hair and brown eyes; he’s described as approximately 3-feet tall.

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 36-year-old Holly Jean Cooper and 3-year-old Lucas Robert Cooper.

They were last seen on Ruth Falls Rd. in Ruth Falls (Sheet Harbour area) at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, February 24.

Holly Cooper has brown hair and blue eyes. She’s approximately 5-foot-1, 145 pounds. When last seen, she was wearing black or grey pants and a grey shirt.

Lucas Cooper has black curly hair and brown eyes. He’s approximately 3-feet. No clothing description is available.

The pair is believed to be on foot.
