Arrest Made After Man Tries To Set The Halifax Shopping Centre on Fire.
Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to an arson investigation that occurred in Halifax yesterday.
Police received a report that at approximately 5:30 a.m. a man had attempted to start a number of fires at the Halifax Shopping Centre located at 7001 Mumford Road in Halifax. The man attempted to start fires in three locations outside the building before breaking into the property and starting a fourth fire. There was minimal damage to the property and there were no reported injuries.
At approximately 2:25 p.m. officers arrested the suspect in Dartmouth without further incident.
Joel Michael Morash, 43, is scheduled to appear in court today to face one count of arson and four counts of failing to comply with a court order.
