Update: New Info in Efforts to Locate 73 Year Old Woman Missing in New Glasgow.

Update April 12th.

Emergency services across Nova Scotia continue to ask for the public’s assistance in locating 73-year-old female Adair Townsend.

Police Investigators have gathered new information to indicate that Adair Townsend was now last seen on Tuesday early morning on April 9, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., around the area of Mount William near the Trenton Connector and Highway 106 exit 1A.

Police have followed up on several leads to try and locate Adair Townsend but have so far been unsuccessful. Police and her family are concerned and want to know if she is safe.

Adair Townsend also has a medical condition of a mild case of Alzheimer’s and takes regular walks on her own.

Adair Townsend is described as

Female
5 foot 2 inches tall
110 Pounds
Grey medium length hair
Wearing a dark grey/blue coat
Wearing black Doc Martin Boots.
Wearing glasses

Emergency Services including the Pictou County District RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Servies, Nova Scoita Volunteer Search and Rescue Teams, Pictou County Volunteer Fire Departments, Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forestry Aircraft Patrol Unit and the New Glasgow Regional Police continue to search in the areas of Mount William area and the Trenton Park areas.

Police continue to ask the public to around the area of Brookside Avenue New Glasgow, Park Road and Mount William areas to check sheds and backyards and spread the word through the community and social media on the whereabouts of Adair Townsend. Police are also asking the public to check trail cameras, dash cameras and even door bell cameras to assist in the investigation.

New Glasgow Regional Police continues to ask for the public’s assistance in locating 73-year-old female Adair Townsend who was last seen on Monday April 8, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Brookside Avenue, New Glasgow.

Police continue to follow up on several leads to try and locate Adair Townsend. According to witnesses she was last seen near the Mount William Road area off Highway 106 on Monday April 8 between 3:30pm to 6:00pm and was also seen near the Trenton Park at 8:30pm. Police are asking for residents in this area to check backyards and sheds and check for video.

Police and her family are concerned and want to know if she is safe.
