Man Arrested After New Glasgow Business Evacuated.

On Saturday May 18, 2024, at approximately 12:22 pm, New Glasgow Regional Police received a report of a male with a knife at a business on Westville Road New Glasgow.

When police officers arrived on scene, they immediately evacuated a business and continued to evacuate the Highland Square Mall premises. A complete search of the area was conducted in the area where the man was immediately located on Westville Road.

The man was immediately arrested without incident and appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic.

The man did not display a knife during the incident.

The 25-year-old male was charged with,

Theft under $5000.00
Possession of Stolen Property
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Resist Arrest
The man was released upon conditions the next day and will be attending Provincial Court in Pictou at a later date.
