Community Centre in Country Harbour to Receive Funding.
Residents of Guysborough County will see improvements to a community facility in Country Harbour thanks to a provincial grant.
“Our investment in infrastructure and recreation is a testament to our dedication to accessible and vibrant community spaces,” said Greg Morrow, Minister of Agriculture and MLA for Guysborough-Tracadie, on behalf of Allan MacMaster, Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage. “Community centres are the much-needed establishments, particularly those located in rural and remote areas, that provide the opportunities to learn, socialize and volunteer.”
The Country Harbour Gun Glub, a community recreation centre in Country Harbour, which is celebrating 50 years in operation this year, hosts recreational activities such as baseball tournaments, community breakfasts, bingo and dart leagues, and is a gathering place for dances, funeral receptions, birthdays and reunions. The centre received funding for a new roof and replacement of windows for energy efficiency.
This community grant is part of a series of announcements taking place across the province.
