Community Infrastructure Upgrades to Get Funding in The CBRM.
Residents and visitors in North Sydney and Coxheath will see improvements to community facilities thanks to provincial grants.
“Maintaining these established facilities is a priority for the sustainability of our province,” said Keith Bain, MLA for Victoria-The Lakes, on behalf of Allan MacMaster, Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage “These facilities are operated by community for community residents, providing opportunities, services and support for everyone.”
The Cape Breton Exhibition Society received funding for roof, ceiling and electrical repairs to its facility in North Sydney. The society, established in 1916, promotes agriculture, community activities and cultural events.
Other organizations are also receiving provincial grants for upgrades:
- Coxheath Volunteer Fire Department – install heat pump and enhancements to its building
- Racing Cape Breton Inc. – support the replacement of a tally board at Northside Downs.
These community grants are part of a series of announcements taking place across the province.
