Police Charge Man With Uttering Threats And Other Serious Offences After Standoff.
Police charge man with weapons offences
Halifax Regional Police has charged a man with weapons offences and uttering threats in relation to an incident that occurred yesterday in Halifax.
On August 12 at approximately 10 p.m. police responded to a weapons call in the 5000 block of Kent Street in Halifax involving people known to one another.
The suspect refused to exit the residence. Residents were removed from the area so police could deploy a sensory irritant. The man then came out of the residence and was arrested.
A 37-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court to face charges of:
-Uttering threats
-Possession of a weapon contrary to order
-Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
