NSLC Releases First-Quarter Results.
The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) released its first-quarter financial results today, August 20.
Total sales from April 1 to June 30, 2024, were up 1.5 per cent to $222.5 million, with an increase in both beverage alcohol and cannabis sales compared with the same time last year.
Beverage alcohol sales increased 0.7 per cent to $191.3 million, and cannabis sales increased 7.3 per cent to $31.2 million.
Earnings decreased 0.5 per cent to $70.4 million.
Sales of Nova Scotia alcohol products increased by 5.4 per cent to $24.7 million. Locally produced ready-to-drink products lead the beverage alcohol category with an 11.2 per cent increase to $9.8 million. Local cannabis products decreased 1.4 per cent to $9.3 million; Nova Scotia cannabis products account for 29.9 per cent of all cannabis sales.
Other local product sales results include:
- craft beer increased 8.9 per cent to $8.4 million
- wine decreased 7.3 per cent to $3.8 million
- spirits decreased 3.5 per cent to $2.8 million.
