Two People Charged With Multiple Serious Offenses.
Police recover weapons and stolen property
Halifax Regional Police has charged two people with weapons, drug and stolen property related offences last night in Halifax.
On September 11 at approximately 6 p.m. officers arrested two individuals in the area of the 2400 block of Barrington Street without incident. Officers also seized the following items from the location:
- Loaded sawed-off shotgun
- Unloaded sawed-off shotgun
- Unloaded .22 rifle
- Ammunition
- Hatchet
- Spear
- OC spray
- Drug paraphernalia
- 12 bikes/frames
- 3 e-bikes
- 1 e-scooter
- Bike parts
- 2 generators
- 7 sets of power tools
- 1 safe
- Cash
Two men, aged 45 and 31, will appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face the following charges:
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of weapons dangerous to public peace
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition (loaded)
- Tampering with serial no. on firearm
- Store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regs
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking
The 45-year-old man is also facing the charge of failing to comply with a probation order.
On June 22 officers located approximately 40 bicycles and scooters along with numerous parts at the same location in Halifax. The bicycles, scooters and parts were seized at that time.
