Police Investigate Shots Fired at Residence Containing Four Adults and Three Youths.

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information in relation to shots fired at a home in East Preston.

This morning, at approximately 1:25 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, Halifax Regional Police, and RCMP Police Dog Services responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Upper Partridge River Rd., near Hwy. 7.

Officers learned that there were seven occupants inside the home — three women, one man and three youths — when more than half a dozen bullets were fired at the home.

No physical injuries were sustained, but a bullet did impact a mattress inside the home where an occupant was sleeping.

At the scene, officers found evidence consistent with that of a shooting.

The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the incident was random.
