Public Safety Advisory for Town of New Glasgow- Bear sighting in Town of New Glasgow.
New Glasgow Regional Police are advising the public that police have received several reports of a black bear in the MacKay-Washington Street area. Be aware bears can travel great distances.
Police are continuing patrols of the area and Department of Natural Resources have been contacted.
If you spot a bear in the Town of New Glasgow or Town of Trenton you can call 902-752-1941 non emergency line.

How to Avoid Problems with Black Bears
For those who choose to reside in a rural area, increased interaction with wildlife is bound to occur. Real black bears aren’t the cuddly critters portrayed in cartoons. They are large powerful animals that should be treated with caution and respect.
