17-Year-Old Youth Charged With Various Offences, Including Robbery.
Yarmouth Municipal RCMP have arrested and charged a 17-year-old youth with various charges, including robbery.
On October 25, Yarmouth Municipal RCMP with the assistance of the RCMP Yarmouth General Investigative Section (GIS), RCMP Yarmouth Rural Detachment, and the RCMP Police Dog Services, responded to a report of a robbery with a firearm in the Town of Yarmouth.
Several officers immediately attended the scene and learned that the victim had their bike stolen at gunpoint. Officers learned that the youth suspect had left the area, and with the assistance of the Police Dog Services, the youth suspect was located and arrested at a residence nearby, without incident. The suspect and victim knew each other, the victim did not suffer any injuries.
Officers executed a search warrant and seized the intimidation firearm.
The youth was charged with the following offences:
- Robbery With A Firearm CC344(1)(A)
- Pointing A Firearm CC87
- Possession Of A Weapon For A Dangerous Purpose CC88
The youth was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Youth Court on October 28, 2024.
The investigation remains on-going.
