Over $2000 in Fines Handed Out For Illegal Striped Bass Catch.
During a patrol on October 14 in Noel, Nova Scotia, our fishery officers inspected a vehicle and detained five people for catching and retaining striped bass that were undersized and over the daily bag limit.
The officers seized their catch and fishing equipment and issued a combined $2,322 fine to two of these individuals for offences under the Maritime Provinces Fishery Regulations.

Anglers are reminded that in our Maritimes Region, the daily bag limit for striped bass is one fish per person and the minimum size is 68 cm.
