Search Warrant at Residence Leads to Seizure of Dangerous Items.

A search warrant execution led to the seizure of four firearms and other items from a residence in Meadowvale.

On November 7, officers from Annapolis District RCMP and Kings District RCMP executed a search warrant at a home and a garage in the 10000-block of Hwy. 201. Four people found at the property were arrested. Officers seized four firearms, including a semi-automatic rifle, as well as ammunition, gunpowder, and a conducted-energy weapon. None of the weapons were found to have been safely stored.

Darryl Dobie, 39, of Meadowvale, has been charged with nine offences, including four counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Contravention of Storage Regulations, and Failure to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody and appeared at Digby Provincial Court on November 8. He was released by the court on conditions pending future court appearances.

Three other people were arrested at the time of the warrant execution. One woman will face a charge of failure to comply with undertaking. One man was arrested related to charges on a different investigation. Another person was released without charges.

This investigation was led by the Annapolis District Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) and the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit. The Valley Integrated SCEU is comprised of police officers from the Kings District RCMP and the Kentville Police Service.
