Police Respond to Serious Incident at School.
Man faces weapon charges
At 9:47 a.m., officers responded to a weapons complaint in the parking lot of Halifax West High School on Thomas Raddall Drive in Halifax. Police arrived and quickly located and took the suspect into custody. Halifax Regional Police K9 members then located a bag belonging to the suspect containing a sensory irritant and a machete. Neither of the weapons had been used and there were no injuries. The suspect did not enter the school.
An 18-year-old man has been released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 19, 2024, to face two charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
