Resident Suffers Injuries After Home Invasion by Three Men.
The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a home invasion that occurred in East Preston.
This morning, at approximately 2:15 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a home invasion on Upper Partridge Rd. near Hwy. 7. Investigators learned that three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, gained entry into the residence through a window, assaulted one of the three occupants and demanded money before fleeing.
A 42-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS. The two other occupants of the home, a 48-year-old woman and a youth, did not suffer physical injuries.
Officers, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services, patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.
The three male suspects wore black ski masks. Two of them were dressed in black, while the third was wearing a black and white jogging suit.
The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the incident was random.
