Couple in Their 70’s Victims of Home Invasion.

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a home invasion that occurred in West Dover.

On December 13, at approximately 7:35 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a home invasion on West Dover Rd. Investigators learned that two men armed with knives had forced their way into the home. Once inside, one of the two occupants was restrained while the second was instructed to open a safe. The suspects then fled the area.

The occupants, a 77-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, did not did not suffer physical injuries.

Officers, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services, patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.

One male suspect is described as 6-foot-4 and of stocky build. He was wearing a mask and was dressed in black.

The second male suspect is described at 5-foot-8 and stocky. He was wearing camouflage pants, a black top and a mask.

The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from RCMP Forensic Identification Services, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the home invasion was random.
