Woman Assaulted and Man Stabbed, Suspect in Custody.
Weekend update
Halifax Regional Police responded to 910 calls for service over the weekend. Some notable calls are as follows:
Police investigate stabbing
On March 28 at approximately 4 p.m., officers responded to the 200-250 block of Wyse Road in Dartmouth for reports of an assault. A man was seen striking a woman, knocking her to the ground. The man left the area on foot.
While officers were on scene, a second man approached them advising that he was stabbed when he confronted the man who assaulted the woman. Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was not known to either victim.
At approximately 4:10 p.m., officers located and arrested the suspect. A 35-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date to face charges of:
- aggravated assault
- assault causing bodily harm
- possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
