Update: Police lay additional charges in sexual assault investigation

A former massage therapist in Halifax is facing additional sexual assault charges.

On March 5, 2025, police arrested and charged Sergii Kozub, 43, with one count of sexual assault. Mr. Kozub was a massage therapist working at a business on Lacewood Drive. The assault is alleged to have taken place during an appointment. Mr. Kozub appeared in Halifax Provincial Court on April 14, 2025, to face that charge.

Since that time, more victims have come forward and police are now laying five additional sexual assault charges against Sergii Kozub. Mr. Kozub is scheduled to reappear in Halifax Provincial Court on June 5, 2025.

The investigation is ongoing.

Out of respect and concern for the victims’ privacy and wellbeing, no further details will be released.

There is no statute of limitation on sexual assaults. Anyone who has been the victim of a sexual assault is encouraged to contact police. Victims will be treated with compassion, dignity and respect throughout the entire investigative process.
