A vehicle was travelling on Jubilee Road when it was involved in a collision with another vehicle. As the driver fled the scene, he struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk and then hit another two parked vehicles before coming to a stop. The pedestrian was transported to hospital and died of her injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver, Deepak Sharma, 32, was arrested at the scene. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face charges of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operation of a conveyance causing death<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operation of a conveyance while impaired causing death<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failure to stop after an accident resulting in death<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failure to stop after an accident<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Halifax Regional Police extend heartfelt condolences to the woman\u2019s family and friends. Police also extend thanks to the witnesses who remained at the scene through the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident or video from the area to call police at 902-490-5020.
