{"id":10560,"date":"2025-02-11T21:08:49","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T00:08:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=10560"},"modified":"2025-02-11T21:08:50","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T00:08:50","slug":"police-investigate-fatal-single-vehicle-crash-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2025\/02\/11\/police-investigate-fatal-single-vehicle-crash-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Investigate Fatal Single Vehicle Crash."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Lower Sackville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday, at approximately 9:35 a.m., RCMP officers, fire services, and EHS, responded to a report of a vehicle crash on Sackville Dr. near Hillcrest Ave. RCMP officers learned that a Mazda 3 was travelling on the road when left the roadway and struck a power pole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rear passenger, a 50-year-old woman from Lake Echo, was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver, a 53-year-old man from North Preston, and another passenger, a 56-year-old man from Dartmouth, both suffered life-threatening injuries. They were transported to hospital by EHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing. Investigators are asking anyone with dash cam footage of Sackville Dr., near the area of Hillcrest Ave., between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to come forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sackville Dr. was closed for several hours but has since reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our thoughts are with the victim\u2019s loved ones at this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
