Police charge two adults and three youths in relation to an assault in Halifax<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two adults and three youths have been charged for an assault that occurred in downtown Halifax last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 23, 2024, at approximately 1:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of two women, age 21 and 23, who had been assaulted by a group of people not known to them. The investigation has been complex, involving a number of witnesses and evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hussein Mashhour, 19, was charged with assault causing bodily harm and appeared in Halifax provincial court in January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A second man, 18, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and will appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date. As his charge has not yet been sworn, he cannot yet be named.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two 18-year-olds who were youths at the time of the assault have been charged with assault causing bodily harm. They are scheduled to appear at Halifax provincial youth court at a later date to face charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 17-year-old youth has been charged with two counts of assault and is scheduled to appear at Halifax provincial youth court at a later date to face charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
