A 38-year-old man from Halifax, N.S., has been charged in connection with a break, enter and theft from a church in the Town of New Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday April 5th, 2025, at approximately 1:45 p.m., New Glasgow Regional Police officers responded to a report of break, enter and theft at a church on Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow. The theft occurred when a private event was taking place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through a subsequent investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect in connection with the investigation. Officers were also able to recover the items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police then arrested the 38-year-old man without incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 38-year-old male from Halifax was identified as Jonathan David Murphy and was charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Break and Entering<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Theft under $5000.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Three Counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to return to Nova Scotia Provincial Court in Pictou on Monday April 7th, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
