{"id":10966,"date":"2025-04-25T09:05:56","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T12:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=10966"},"modified":"2025-04-25T09:05:57","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T12:05:57","slug":"pictou-county-man-charged-with-defrauding-non-profit-youth-shelter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2025\/04\/25\/pictou-county-man-charged-with-defrauding-non-profit-youth-shelter\/","title":{"rendered":"Pictou County Man Charged With Defrauding Non-Profit Youth Shelter."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit charge man with Fraud and Falsifying Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a man after a lengthy fraud investigation related to a non-profit organization that involved a Pictou County youth shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 21, 2024, New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit received information indicating that a former executive director allegedly defrauded a youth shelter and allegedly falsified records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the former employee defrauded the organization of approximately $200,000 and falsified employment records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 5th 2025, Tyler Allan Babineau, 33, of Pictou County, was arrested and charged with one count of Fraud Over $5,000 and one count of falsifying records. That same day he was later released on conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tyler Babineau will appear in Nova Scotia Provincial Court Pictou on June 2, 2025, at 9:30 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source : NGRP Release <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit charge man with Fraud and Falsifying Records.
