New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a man in relation to a hate crime that occurred in New Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 5th New Glasgow Regional Police received a report of a hate crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 6, 2025, New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a report of postings of online hate speech that occurred from a New Glasgow residence. Investigators from the New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit learned that the man allegedly posted several hateful messages targeting Jewish communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At approximately 3:35 p.m., officers located the 22-year-old New Glasgow man and safely arrested him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Luke Alexander McDonnell, 22 has been charged with<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Advocating and Promoting Genocide. CC 318(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Public Incitement of Hatred. CC 319(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Willful Promotion Hatred. CC319(2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The male was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Nova Scotia Provincial Court in Pictou on Monday June 9th, 2025, at 9:30 am.
The New Glasgow Regional Police are committed to thoroughly investigating hate-motivated crimes and unequivocally condemn these reprehensible acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
