On Friday August 15th, 2025, at approximately 12:38 pm, a 36 year old female was apprehended by citizens after stealing a pickup truck that had been parked at the Nova Scotia Community College at 36 Arthur St Truro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operator of the truck saw the woman driving away from the college towards Arthur St. He chased after the truck, waved another vehicle down on Arthur St, and together they followed the truck to the intersection of Arthur St and Young St where the stolen truck was stopped in traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operator of the truck attempted to open the driver’s door of the stolen truck at which time the accused turned hard to the right, gunned the engine and drove across the sidewalk and into a stone monument. The truck was stuck on top of the monument at which time the operator and two witnesses assisted him with holding the accused until police arrived moments later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police have received dash camera video of the incident and are appealing to the community for any other video that may have captured the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The female is facing the following charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Theft of Motor Vehicle s.33.1(1) Criminal Code
Dangerous Operation of MV s.320.13 Criminal Code
Possession of Stolen Property s.354(1) Criminal Code
