Inverness County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Hwy. 105 near Lexington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On August 20, at approximately 1:25 p.m., Inverness County District RCMP, fire services, and EHS responded to a report of a collision between two vehicles on Hwy. 105. The collision occurred between Long Stretch Rd. and Lake Horton Rd. Investigators learned that a Chevrolet CZT and a Jeep collided before both vehicles came to rest in the ditch on the opposite side of the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 52-year-old man from Ontario, was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old woman from Eskasoni, was transported to hospital by EHS with serious injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the location of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A portion of Hwy. 105 between Port Hastings and Lexington was closed for several hours and has since reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
