New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a man with aggravated assault in New Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On August 23, at 2:30 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a report of a stabbing that occurred at a local business on East River Road. NGRP investigation revealed that two adult males were involved in an altercation when one man assaulted the other with a knife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect fled the area upon police arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A 46-year-old victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was later released from the Aberdeen Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the same day, August 23, at 10:27a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit arrested 37-year-old James Michael Murchison and charged him with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aggravated Assault<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Nova Scotia Provincial Court in Pictou on Monday August 25, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The investigation by New Glasgow Regional Police and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Fornesic Identification Service continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
