Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had attempted to gain entry into a home to see a youth, who was inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the investigation, officers determined the man began a relationship with the youth in September; the relationship started online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On November 22, Eskasoni RCMP, with the assistance of Richmond County District RCMP, safely arrested Ethan Arnold Battiste, 21, at his residence in Chapel Island. A search warrant was executed and an electronic device was seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Battiste has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sexual Interference (three counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sexual Assault (three counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Luring a Child<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invitation to Sexual Touching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Break and Enter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uttering Threats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mischief Under $5000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fail to Comply with Undertaking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Battiste remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on December 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given Battiste\u2019s online presence, investigators believe there may be additional victims. RCMP officers encourage other survivors to come forward by contacting their local detachment or police of jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have experienced sexual violence, you are not alone.
