{"id":11868,"date":"2025-12-29T10:11:38","date_gmt":"2025-12-29T13:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=11868"},"modified":"2025-12-29T10:11:38","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T13:11:38","slug":"man-facing-multiple-serious-charges-after-fatal-collision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2025\/12\/29\/man-facing-multiple-serious-charges-after-fatal-collision\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Facing Multiple Serious Charges After Fatal Collision."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Man charged with impaired driving after fatal collision<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A man has been charged with impaired driving after a fatal motor vehicle collision in Dartmouth on Saturday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On December 27 at approximately 8:05 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 107, near exit 13N.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver of one vehicle, a 52-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Health Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver of the other vehicle, a 31-year-old man, was transported to hospital with minor injuries. The vehicle\u2019s passenger, a 41-year-old woman, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver, Shaquille David Skinner, 31, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Impaired operation of conveyance causing death<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dangerous operation of conveyance causing death<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of the collision, Mr. Skinner was found in possession of a firearm and has also been charged with twelve firearm-related offences. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halifax Regional Police extend condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone with video from the area or information about this incident is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
