{"id":12000,"date":"2026-01-27T16:56:52","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T19:56:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=12000"},"modified":"2026-01-27T16:56:52","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T19:56:52","slug":"youth-arrested-in-connection-with-two-separate-robberies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2026\/01\/27\/youth-arrested-in-connection-with-two-separate-robberies\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth Arrested in Connection With Two Separate Robberies."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a youth in connection with two separate robberies in Westphal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On January 15, RCMP officers received information about a robbery that had occurred on a public transit bus in Westphal that afternoon. Officers learned that a youth victim was approached by a youth suspect who presented a weapon and demanded the victim\u2019s jacket. The suspect then exited the bus with the jacket. The victim was not injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On January 17, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded to a second robbery involving the same youth victim on a public transit bus. The suspect again approached the victim and threatened harm if they did not surrender their cell phone. With assistance from a bystander, the victim was able to exit the bus uninjured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the investigation, officers identified the youth suspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On January 23, a youth was safely arrested in Cole Harbour. They were wearing the victim\u2019s jacket and were in possession of the weapon used in the robberies. Both items were seized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The youth is facing the following charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Robbery (two counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disguise with Intent (two counts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assault<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uttering Threats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failing to Comply with a Youth Sentence (three counts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The youth was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on January 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: RCMP Release <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment has arrested a youth in connection with two separate robberies in Westphal.
