Colchester County District RCMP has proceeded with formally charging two youths arrested in connection with a sexual assault investigation involving a hockey team in the Truro area. The other two youths who were arrested will not be charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One youth has been charged with Sexual Assault with a Weapon and Sexual Assault (two counts). The other has been charged with Sexual Assault with a Weapon, Sexual Assault (two counts), and Assault with a Weapon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBased on the investigation, we won\u2019t be moving forward with charges against two of four youths arrested,\u201d says S\/Sgt. Marc Rose, District Commander, Colchester County District RCMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators believe there may be other victims who\u2019ve not yet come forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe want anyone who\u2019s been a victim of assault under the guise of team initiation or bonding to know they\u2019ll be heard and supported,\u201d says S\/Sgt. Rose. \u201cOur investigators use a trauma-informed approach, and you can speak with police at any time without needing to immediately decide whether to participate in the full investigative or court process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
