A Mulgrave man is facing multiple charges after RCMP linked him to two separate break and enter investigations in Antigonish and Inverness counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 23 at approximately 7:40 p.m., Antigonish County District RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a home on Old Mulgrave Road. The residence was unoccupied at the time, but the homeowner arrived and saw a man and woman leaving the property. After confronting the pair, they fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The male suspect was described as wearing a jacket with “Harley Davidson” written on it and jeans while carrying two backpacks and a small bag. The female suspect was wearing a white coat, dark pants, white socks and sandals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While responding to the call, an RCMP officer spotted a woman matching the description and detained her. During the investigation, officers determined she was also wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation that began earlier that day. The woman, identified as 36-year-old Tanya Marie Young, was arrested and has since been charged in relation to that investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators later identified the male suspect as 45-year-old Jadrian Shamus MacLean of Mulgrave. Officers also linked MacLean to a separate break and enter investigation being conducted by Inverness County District RCMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That investigation began on June 16 after police received a report that people were staying inside a vacant home on Spring Street without the homeowner’s permission. Officers later seized evidence indicating that at least one person had been living in the residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 25, MacLean and Young were both charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent in connection with the June 23 incident. MacLean also faces two counts of Failing to Comply with an Order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On July 6, investigators laid additional charges against MacLean for Breaking and Entering with Intent and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime in relation to the June 16 investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MacLean and Young have both been released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in provincial court at a later date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
