{"id":13153,"date":"2026-07-23T19:44:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-23T22:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/?p=13153"},"modified":"2026-07-23T19:44:48","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T22:44:48","slug":"two-people-arrest-following-traffic-stop-one-facing-serious-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nnpress.ca\/index.php\/2026\/07\/23\/two-people-arrest-following-traffic-stop-one-facing-serious-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Two People Arrested Following Traffic Stop, One Facing Serious Charges."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The East Hants RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) has arrested two people in relation to a drug trafficking investigation following a traffic stop in Mill Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In March, the East Hants RCMP SCEU began an investigation into drug trafficking in the community of Sipekne\u2019katik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the investigation, on July 21, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee on Mill Village Rd. in Shubenacadie. The vehicle initially stopped; however, after the officer advised the occupants of the reason for the stop, it drove away. Officers followed the Cherokee and conducted a second traffic stop in the 3100 block of Indian Rd. in Mill Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver and passenger were arrested. Officers seized a quantity of crack cocaine, cash, two cell phones and the Cherokee.
