Upon arrival at the scene, investigators learned that a 38-year-old woman, armed with a knife, approached a 50-year-old woman who was walking along the roadway. A physical altercation ensued, during which the 50-year-old woman gained control of the knife and stabbed the 38-year-old woman. A 40-year-old woman then struck the 50-year-old woman with a blunt object. Shortly afterward, a man is believed to have discharged a firearm, striking the 50-year-old woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both the 38-year-old woman and the 50-year-old woman were transported to hospital by EHS with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evelyn Patricia Paul, 38, of Paq\u2019tnkek First Nation, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attempted Murder without Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failure to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dean Thomas Earl Ross, 38, of Paq\u2019tnkek First Nation, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attempted Murder with Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pointing a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weapons Possession Contrary to Order and Failure to Surrender Authorization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sarah Emily Paul, 40, of Paq\u2019tnkek First Nation, has been charged with Assault with a Weapon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone with information about the incident, or video surveillance that may assist investigators, is asked to call Antigonish County District RCMP at 902-863-6500.
