The video appeared to show a driver travelling at more than 300 km\/h on a provincial roadway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The video and comments indicate the vehicle is a Chevrolet Corvette C8 and that it was being operated in the Antigonish area. Investigators have since received information that the vehicle may be connected to other local driving complaints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Excessive speed at any time puts everyone\u2019s life at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At 300 km\/h, a vehicle travels more than 83 metres every second. Depending on the vehicle and road conditions, it can take hundreds of metres to come to a complete stop, leaving little time or distance to react to unexpected hazards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Driving at these speeds is not a thrill, it&#8217;s a serious danger,&#8221; says Sgt. James Jessome. &#8220;One mistake can have devastating consequences for the driver, passengers and other road users. Choosing to slow down and drive responsibly helps keep everyone safe.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Road users who witness dangerous driving, excessive speed, or suspected impaired driving are encouraged to call 911 at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who recognizes the driver or vehicle is asked to contact Antigonish County District RCMP at 902-863-6500.
