RCMP officers learned that a Toyota Yaris and a Toyota Corolla were travelling, in a construction zone, in opposite directions when they collided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver and lone occupant of the Corolla, a 58-year-old Lower South River man, sustained significant injuries. He was transported to hospital by EHS where he succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver and lone occupant of the Yaris, a 21-year-old Trenton woman, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hwy. 104 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our thoughts are with the victim&#8217;s family at this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: Release <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Antigonish County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in James River.
